Moe Points
Moe Points are Deskie's pay-as-you-go balance for online AI features. They cover AI chat, online speech, voice input, image tools, and other features that call an online AI service. You do not need to manage separate AI-provider accounts or API keys.
Free Daily Points
Your free allowance resets at 00:00 UTC. The Profile > Moe Points card shows the reset time in your local time.
- Web: 60 free Moe Points each day.
- Desktop and mobile apps: 90 free Moe Points each day.
- Unused daily points do not carry over. When they run out, wait for the next reset, earn more points, or top up.
Daily points are used before paid or rewarded points. After that, the points closest to expiry are used first.
Earn More Moe Points
- Invite a friend: Open Profile > Moe Points > Invite Friends, share your six-character code, and ask a new friend to redeem it there. You both receive 100 Moe Points. A user can redeem one invite code, but can invite multiple friends.
- Publish a creation: Publicly publish a new character, story, or pet and pass review. Your first three eligible creations earn 100 Moe Points each. A creation can earn this reward only once; updates and private or rejected creations do not qualify.
Invite and public-creation rewards are added automatically. Rewarded points are valid for three months from issue.
Top Up and Pay
Select Profile > Moe Points > Top up and choose a package. The available packages and payment methods depend on your region and platform:
- WeChat Pay for Chinese-language web purchases.
- Stripe for other web purchases.
- Steam when using a Steam account.
- Google Play on supported Android purchases.
Packages range from 500 to 12,000 points. Purchased points are valid for three months from purchase.
Check Your Balance and History
Open Profile > Moe Points to view your balance, next daily reset, and available rewards.
- Top-up history lists purchases and rewards, their issue date, expiry date, original amount, and remaining balance.
- Usage details shows the last 30 days of consumption by day, split into text, speech, voice input, and images.
These views make it easier to spot whether chat, online speech, or another feature is driving your usage.
How AI Rates Work
There is no fixed number of replies per point. Each request is charged from the actual online AI cost, so longer prompts, longer replies, large chat history, image inputs, and a higher-priced model use more points.
Each model has a different style and Moe Point rate:
| Model | Rate | Description |
|---|---|---|
| DeepSeek | 1.8x | Affordable |
| OpenAI | 0.8x | Smart and reliable |
| Doubao | 1x | Immersive |
| Gemini | 6x | All-rounder |
| Grok | 10x | Lifelike |
The rate compares typical Moe Point usage for AI replies. For conversations of a similar length, a model below 1x generally uses fewer Moe Points, while a model above 1x generally uses more. It is not a fixed price per message: usage also changes with how much of the previous conversation the AI needs to read and how long its reply is. Spoken voice generated online can use additional Moe Points.
Rates may change over time as AI providers update their prices. Deskie also regularly upgrades each provider option to newer model versions, so choosing a provider gives you its current Deskie-supported model rather than a permanently fixed version.
Online speech is charged separately from the text reply and can be a substantial part of a long conversation. Image generation also uses Moe Points. Usage vary by selected model, size, and references.
Reduce Voice Usage
Turn off My settings > Character > Play voice for text-only conversations. This stops online speech charges, although AI chat still uses points.
On Windows, install the free Deskie Local Voice Pack, then keep Play voice on and enable My settings > Character > Use local voice pack. The pack generates the spoken reply on your computer, so speech itself uses no Moe Points. It still needs online AI chat to create the reply, and voice input remains an online feature.
The local pack supports English and Chinese and requires a Vulkan-capable graphics card. It can take longer to start, use more computer resources, and be less expressive than online speech, but is the best option for long chats and stories where speech usage would otherwise add up.
