Your Persona
A persona gives Deskie a starting point for understanding you. It contains a nickname and a background story, such as "college student who likes horror games." The active persona is included when characters, desktop pets, and interactive stories respond to you.
Where Personas Apply
Your active persona applies across Deskie rather than to one specific character. Switching personas changes the personal context used for future replies in character chats, pet conversations, and stories. It does not delete or rewrite existing conversation history.
Personas are saved to your Deskie account and are available after signing in on another device.
Persona Settings
- Web: sign in, open Account, then find My persona.
- Desktop: open My settings from the character's right-click menu or the Deskie tray menu, then find My persona.
- Mobile: open the person icon (Account), then choose a persona from My persona.
Nickname and Background Story
Nickname tells characters what to call you and supports up to 20 characters.
Background story provides up to 1,000 characters of context about who you are. Useful details include interests, work or school, personality, preferences, relationships, and anything you want characters to understand from the beginning.
A few concrete details are usually more useful than a long biography. For example:
Mina, a college student who loves horror games, stays up too late, and acts brave even when she is nervous.
Multiple Personas
An account can keep up to 10 personas. A work persona, a role-playing identity, and an everyday persona can each present a different side of you without repeatedly editing the same fields.
Only one persona is active at a time. Creating a new persona makes it active. A persona can be deleted when at least one other persona remains; deleting the active persona switches to one of the remaining personas.
Persona and Memory
Persona and conversation memory work together but serve different purposes. The persona supplies the background you choose to share across Deskie. Conversation history and memories grow from what happens in individual chats. Changing personas changes the context for future replies without erasing those past conversations.
